Measurement Principle
·Altitude difference between coating surface and exposed material (D) is measured by the pin (1) on the meter. Two supporting feet (2) should be put on the coating surface (3).
· Design and Function
·Meter is enclosed in a chromeplated metal case. Supporting feet stretch from the bottom with the contact pin in protective sleeve. The groove near the sleeve is for adjusting the pin through the flat of a glass plate. The spare part is in the scope of supply. The gauge with attachments is in a box.
Measurement Process:
·Configuration
·Take off the protection cap and put the gauge straight on the glass plate. If it doesn’t indicate as zero, manually adjust it to zero by the groove.
·Prepare measure point
·The coating needs to cut a 3mm zone with caution until the material is reached at measure point.
Measurement
·Put the gauge on the measure zone and touch the exposed material with contact pin, dry film thickness can be read directly. (Unit: μm) Put a razor under the feet when measuring soft coating.

Test principle

The height difference (d) between the upper surface of the coating and the exposed substrate area is measured by the pin · moving freely under the dial, and two feet · are placed on the coating surface.

Design and function

The dial instrument is enclosed in a chrome plated metal case. The supporting foot extends from the bottom of the instrument, and the pin is provided with a protective sleeve. The slot on one side of the protective sleeve is used to adjust the pin, which is adjusted through the plane of a glass plate. This accessory is included in the scope of supply. The dial with accessories is packed in a box.

Measurement procedure

·Setting: remove the protective cover and place the instrument vertically on the plane of the glass plate. If the pointer reading is not zero, it can be adjusted through the slot in the protective cover until the pointer reaches zero.

·Preparation of measuring point: at the measuring point, the coating shall be carefully scraped off a 3mm area until it reaches the substrate.

Place the measuring instrument on the measuring area so that the pin contacts the bare substrate, and the dry film thickness can be directly read out, unit: μ m 。 If it is a soft coating, put a razor under the support.
