Hegman Grindometer 232

Model:232
Brand:

Hegman Grindometer #232 is made from hardened steel by special treatment and assured the size is reliable. Two well-machining wedge grooves are cut on the hardened steel. On one side the height which unit is μm and the other side is Hegmen scale (HS). Other scales can be customized as request. Conversion relationship between the most common fineness unit please find the below diagram:
Fineness measure range of standard #232 is 15 / 25 / 50 / 100 μ m. A straight scraper is included in scope of supply.
Measure Process
Pour the measure material into the deeper groove. Be careful that don’t make any bubble. Hold the scraper and put it straight on the fineness scale and groove. Scrap the material smoothly toward the narrower groove. Finish the process in 1-2 seconds.
Evaluation should be started 3 seconds after the scrapping. The line of sign must be perpendicular to the groove in observation. Viewing angle should be 20-30. Find the location of particle gathering or scratch appearing. The responding depth of groove to the location is the fineness
Maintenance
Hegman Grindometer #232 must be washed by dissolvent after use. Don’t use sharp and hard stuff to clean remaining paint. Straight edge of the scraper will be worn continuously, so please use it lightly. The scraper needs a check after a period of working by put it on the leveling gauge (vertical direction along the fineness scale). And then check it by transmission principle.

Hegman Grindometer #232 is applicable to measure fineness of coating. Scratch coating into a wedge shape and find the location of where the grain diameter is bigger than the height of wedge groove by visual observation. The depth of groove on the location at the borderline of smooth surface and rough surface is the fineness of coating.
